TypeSafe AI
TypeSafe AI was founded in 2024 and is headquartered in San Francisco; its founders include former OpenAI researcher Diogo Almeida along with Erik Gafni and Sasha Sheng. The company is developing a new class of "machine-native" intelligence intended to be integrated directly into software as composable primitives. Its first model, Jev, is described as delivering frontier-level intelligence with under 100 milliseconds of latency, being up to 100x faster and less expensive than other frontier models, and capable of producing hundreds of outputs in parallel. Jev provides calibrated confidence scores to help developers decide when software can act autonomously versus deferring. TypeSafe has launched Jev in early access with a waitlist and raised approximately $40M in seed funding led by DCVC to support its development and rollout.
