月之暗面

Founded in 2023 by Yang Zhilin, 月之暗面 develops large AI models and released its flagship model Kimi K3 in July 2026. Kimi K3 attracted heavy demand at launch, reaching the top of the Hugging Face trending list within 30 minutes and causing access congestion shortly after release. Company leadership reported that K3's release drove a multi-fold increase in annual recurring revenue, with ARR surpassing $300 million by mid-June 2026. During 2026 the company completed six financing rounds and saw its valuation rise rapidly through successive rounds. 月之暗面 has completed a corporate registration change from a limited liability company to a joint-stock company as part of listing preparations and is advancing plans for a Hong Kong IPO targeted for Q1 2027. Founder Yang Zhilin is a Tsinghua and Carnegie Mellon–educated AI researcher who previously worked at Google Brain and Meta AI.
