Echelon Data Centres
Echelon Data Centres builds, owns and operates hyperscale data centre infrastructure designed to serve cloud and enterprise customers. The company currently controls eight campuses in Ireland, the UK, Spain and Italy, with an aggregate planned capacity of 1.2 GW. Its portfolio includes a €500 million facility in Arklow, Co Wicklow, which finally received grid-connection approval in 2024. Recent strategic moves include entering Spain through a joint venture with Europe’s largest utility, Iberdrola, and expanding into Italy to replicate its development model. Echelon plans to use newly raised capital to grow its development pipeline and invest in enabling power infrastructure that supports additional campuses. US investor Starwood Capital acquired a 50 percent stake in 2024 via an €850 million investment, underscoring strong institutional backing for the platform.
